Capable of burning wide range of viscosity: from MGO to Waste oil
Today, at the Emission control areas, the vessels are facing a necessity to use MGO, which viscosity is extremely lower than the heavy fuel oil. The Sunflame rotary cup burner is capable for accepting wide ranges of oil viscosity, enabling the burner to burn the MGO and the heavy fuel oil without changing any components and complicated adjustments.
No special modification needed for using MGO
No special modification is needed for using MGO, for the rotary cup burner is able to cope with wide ranges of viscosity (700cSt~1.5cSt).
The same fuel oil pump can be used for the Heavy fuel oil and MGO, for the rotary cup burner does not require high oil pressure.
Moreover, no steam is used for atomization, hence there is no need to divide the MGO piping and the high temp. steam supply line, nor apply special MGO compliance parts.
High security for using MGO
- Since the rotary cup burner does not require any special changes, mistakes of operation is unlikely to happen.
- Since the rotary cup burner is a low oil pressure type burner, even if any leakage of MGO from loose pipe connections is found, the splashing volume is much less.
- As the rotary cup burner has no nozzles, even if sludge is generated by mixing MGO and HFO, no choking will occur.
